Metal recycler Immix was fined more than $8000 for failing to comply with an Environmental Protection Agency notice in relation to stockpiles on the site of the former Wodonga Saleyards.

EPA North East regional manager Renee Palmer said the company was fined $8261 in December for failing to comply with a pollution abatement notice issued by the EPA.
The authority also issued an updated notice.
The EPA issued a pollution abatement notice ordering Immix to comply with noise regulations and limit the impact of its activities on the Killara community.

In February 2019, the EPA received reports of illegal dumping at the Whtyes Road, Bandiana site, which is operated by Immix Integrated Metal Management Pty Ltd, under a Wodonga council-issued permit.
Ms Palmer said officers inspected the site and found waste stockpiles that breached requirements, with materials stacked too high and inadequate separation between stockpiles.
