The appointment of Bess Nolan-Cook was announced yesterday by Tourism North East's chairman Ross Passalaqua.
Ms Nolan-Cook, who was born in Beechworth, begins on March 16.
She spent two years as member engagement, communications and advocacy with the RACV from 2017 to 2019 and has since worked as director of marketing and communications with an essential oils company.
Mr Passalaqua said Ms Nolan-Cook "has the skills, experience, and passion for the High Country to continue growing tourism as a key economic driver in the region".
