A WODONGA restaurateur is mortified his social media post has caused offence.
Miss Amelie owner and executive chef David Kapay said kitchen banter had been taken out of context in a video posted to the restaurant's Instagram page on Sunday.
In the video Mr Kapay says: "I think there's going to be some semi-hot b****** in the crowd."
He said he was regurgitating words used earlier by a female chef.
"I thought it was a video of me plating up canapes," Mr Kapay said.
"I didn't even think it had audio; it captured inappropriate kitchen banter. I'm extremely apologetic; I was stupid to post it."
A Melbourne-based Border Mail reader, who grew up in Albury, said he was shocked when he noticed the Instagram post on Sunday: "I just think it's a bit disrespectful to his customers."
