Murray Bushrangers will open their NAB League girls season this weekend playing as the curtain raiser for Richmond and Collingwood's blockbuster pre-season clash.

The Bushrangers will host the Oakleigh Chargers at Wangaratta's Norm Minns Oval on Sunday, with seven debutants to take to the field.
Lavington's Grace Hay will put on the Bushrangers' jumper for the first time alongside Molly Kennedy, India Lehman, Olivia Cicolini (Shepparton United), Sam Pritchard, Tayissa Gray (Benalla) and Chloe Locke (Seymour).
"I think it's a great opportunity for the players, and also the staff, to potentially be playing in front of what could be up to 8000 people when the AFL game gets underway," Bushrangers female talent coordinator Briana Cossar said.

"That exposure for girls footy alone, but also within our region, is fantastic.
"We've had a really solid pre-season and we're really happy with the way the girls have developed from the beginning when we saw them in October.
"We're really excited about the season ahead and also the years going forward with some of the young girls coming through the program."
Lavington's Olivia Barber has returned to the side after a strong 2019 season, while Thurgoona's Jesse Elias is also in the mix.
The Bushrangers boast top end experience as well as new youth, with the team expected to base their game on strong defensive pressure, as well as attacking football.
The Bushrangers' round one game will get underway at 1pm, with debutants to have their jumpers presented before the match.
