Ruby Skye has proven competitive in city grade of late and looks to get into a winnable race when she contests the $27,000 Tom Patton Cup, (1800m).
"It looks a nice race for her and she gets in well at the weights," Widdison said.
"You just have to forget her last run at Moonee Valley when trapped four-wide.
"But she is an easy horse to freshen-up and she seems to be back in good order.
"She should prove pretty hard to beat I would have thought."

Ruby Skye is also set to form part of Widdison's assault on next month's Albury Gold Cup alongside stablemates Willi Willi and Wyangle.
"She is dropping significantly in grade at Wagga," he said.
"She boasts a good record on the track and getting Blaike is a bonus."
