The Bulldogs are looking to enter an under-17 and under-14 team into the AFL North East Border Female Football League this season, with past senior player Danny Cohen to coach.
The shift will also see a slight change to the traditional maroon and white ensemble, with a female bulldog to be on the girls' jumpers.
Secretary Kathryn Dalton said it's an exciting time for the club to see girls teams having the opportunity to take to the field for the first time in 130 years.

"We're making sure that the girls feel welcome and that they're apart of the whole process alongside the boys," Dalton said.
"We've always tried to be a family friendly club and have that culture of people starting their careers at Bulldogs and finishing their careers at Bulldogs.
"We want girls to feel a part of that as well."
The Bulldogs are still seeking interested players for the two new sides ahead of the upcoming season.
