The all-conquering Hoppers won eight flags in a row in the 1970s and early 1980s and are keen to prevent Rand from equaling their record.
Geoff and John Wenke, Warren Beddoes and Paul Hoffmann were among the stalwarts during Walla's golden era.
Walla captain Tom Simmons wants to complete a fairytale rise up the ladder this weekend.
Simmons took over the Hoppers in 2017-18 when they were rock bottom and has taken them into the finals for the past three seasons.
They collected wooden spoons for three successive years before Simmons arrived from North Albury.
"We've come a long way which is a great effort by the boys but there is still another step to take," Simmons said.
"We want to make the most of the opportunity in front of us.
"We will be giving it everything."
