The service have confirmed there have been no cases of coronavirus among patients tested. A spokeswoman reassured residents should there be confirmation of a positive test result the Victorian DHHS will be notified and the public will be notified by them.

She said three types of people were currently being tested for coronavirus in line with governmental guidelines:
- people a severe fever or acute respiratory infection that within 14 days have either travelled internationally or been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
- people critically ill with severe community acquired pneumonia with no cause
- healthcare or residential care workers or aged care residents with a fever and acute respiratory infection
CMO Brendan Murphy said there was "extreme pressure" on the country's test kits so it was important to only test those meeting the requirements.
