All Albury and District pennant matches have been postponed until further notice, despite Saturday being the final round of the season, following a decision from Bowls NSW on Tuesday afternoon to suspend all association events, competition events, club events and tournaments.
Semi-finals and grand finals for all grades were due to be played the following weekend.
MORE CORONAVIRUS NEWS:
The A and D has called an extraordinary board meeting next Tuesday night to address the situation.
"All pennant bowls, club events, association district events are all suspended indefinitely," A and D match committee chairman Mick Dunnett said.
Bowls NSW has also recommended clubs don't proceed with social bowls.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"As you are aware the greater majority of our membership is in the high risk category of this virus," Bowls NSW Head of Sport and Operations David Ellis said.
"Whilst Bowls NSW cannot enforce a club to suspend its social bowls events, we strongly urge all clubs to be responsible in this extraordinary and unusual time.
"If a club chooses to proceed, we would encourage them to ensure that they have very strict safeguard protocols in place, as we don't know what measures NSW Health would do to those premises if the virus was tracked to been spread at that place."
HAW club executives are set to determine at a meeting on Wednesday night whether the competition would continue as planned.
