Border cafes, eateries and hotels are doing business differently in the wake of the rapidly unfolding COVID-19 pandemic.

Albury business Meraki Produce has started delivering meals to people confined to their homes due to self-isolation, compromised immune systems and the elderly.

Meraki Produce owner Jacquie Koschitzke said they launched home deliveries in response to growing demand in recent days.

"We do a lot of soups with bone broth and freezer meals and we had quite a few elderly people asking about delivery," she said.

"We are delivering to cancer patients who want nutritionally-dense meals but can't get out.

"We've had a couple of email inquiries from customers who needed to self-isolate after travelling overseas and wanted meals.

"In that case, we'll send a text to make sure they know when we're leaving food on their doorstep."

On Friday The Goods Shed in Wodonga launched a modified version of its food and drinks menu available for takeaway or home delivery.

It included takeaway tap craft beer in recyclable vessels and cocktails.

The Goods Shed bar manager Emma Harrison said the change was being billed as "We're bringing The Goods Shed to you".

Ms Harrison said salads, soups, burgers and pizzas as well as beer, wine and cocktails could be delivered within Albury and Wodonga.

"The delivery is all being done in-house," she said.

"Our staff will be delivering food and drinks so it's all of the people our customers already know.

"Packaged beers are available for takeaway or delivery and if you bring in a flagon we'll fill it up with tap beers as some of them are only on for a short time."

Ms Koschitzke said many Border hospitality businesses were worried about their future in the present climate.

"A lot of businesses are not sure if they'll survive this," Ms Koschitzke said.

"But a lot of businesses have an online presence, many are now offering deliveries and if you're not sure what your favourite cafe is doing, check it out online or call them and ask them how you can support them."
