Wodonga's biggest private employer, Mars Petcare, has introduced additional hygiene measures and excluded visitors from site as its factory works to fulfill demand.

A spokeswoman for Mars Petcare said the company was "obviously concerned about reports of pet food being out of stock in stores and are responding quickly to increased demand to make sure we can continue feeding pets."
She said the business would continue to donate pet food to rescues and Foodbank.

The spokeswoman said office-based teams working from home and social distancing measures were in place at the workplace.
"As a local manufacturer, we rely heavily on the Albury Wodonga community to keep our business running, so we are in regular contact with our suppliers to understand how we can also support them through this difficult time," she said.
