The 32-year-old's vehicle lost traction in West Melbourne about 3am on Sunday.
The driver told police he had been drinking Corona and gin before heading from Wodonga, towards Frankston.
IN OTHER NEWS:
He returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.135 and had his licence cancelled for 13 months, with a $702 fine.
He must have an interlock installed when relicensed.
