Murrumbidgee Local Health District advised on Sunday this was an overseas acquired case.
It takes the total number of positive COVID-19 results to 44, and seven in Albury.
On the Victorian side of the border, Wangaratta has recorded its second case.
The additional case for Albury is the first new case in the city in 15 days.
From one case on March 22, there were an additional three cases confirmed in the following three days and the tally reached six on March 27.
Of the people who have tested positive in Albury, four have recovered.
As of Saturday, one of five people in the Berrigan local government area who contracted the virus has now recovered, and three people in Federation are also back to health.
The updated tally for April 11 across the Health District is:
For Victorian LGAs, Moira has 11 cases, Benalla has three, Mansfield has three and Wodonga still has one case.
Albury Wodonga Health issued a statement on Saturday, noting no further positive results had been recorded from testing at the health service, with the number of positive results remaining at 10.
"Murrumbidgee Local Health District is reporting one patient from the Albury LGA has reported positive to COVID-19 overnight. They were not tested at Albury Wodonga Health," the statement read.
"Albury Wodonga Health is encouraging anyone with a fever, shortness or breath, a cough and/or a sore throat to seeking testing for COVID-19 if they are over the age of 65 with serious health problems.
"You should also be tested if you are ill and have face-to-face contact with the public in the retail sector, homelessness support, child protection, emergency responses, school teachers, boarding schools, detention centres or the military.
"Anyone who works in the health or aged care sector, has returned from overseas or has been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient should also be tested."
The total number of cases in Victoria is 1265 - an increase of 24 from yesterday.
Both NSW and Victoria each recorded a new death from the virus in the last 24 hours.
NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said 30 people across NSW were receiving intensive care for the virus.
NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said he was seeing people follow social distancing guidelines when they were leaving the house for an appropriate reasons.
"Right across our great country and our great state people are actually complying," he said.
"As a result of that compliance, we are seeing a lower rate [of contraction] than we had anticipated at this stage.
"Today I'm very pleased to say ... as at 8pm last night we've had 44 confirmed cases.
"Sadly we've had one more death, which takes our NSW toll to 23 deaths.
