The four-year-old gelding has joined O'Prey's stable via Craig Widdison following the trainer's two-year suspension announced earlier in the month.
O'Prey will be interested to see how he responds in a benchmark 58 handicap (1400m) after finishing second last start in its at Wodonga on March 28 over the same distance.
"Craig was good enough to recommend me for a couple of them," O'Prey said.
"This Skilled Cat has been knocking on the door. He's had one run out to the 1400m the other day at Wodonga and seemed to relish that, so hopefully he can go one better.
"He'll be thereabouts again by the looks of his form, he's always been pretty consistent."
Tyson Returns is another former Widdison horse that has come across and is first emergency for the same race, while online purchase Dhiaga is fourth emergency.
"This day and age with the way things are going, we're trying to run but unfortunately they're not providing many races and there's only capacity fields of 12, which makes it hard," O'Prey said.
"There was massive nominations and we weren't far away from getting them all in, but we'll run with what we can.
"We'll find out by 7.30 on Thursday morning if they get a run or maybe before."
O'Prey said Tyson Returns is a work in progress, but will make his presence felt if he gets a start in the race.
"He's got a few quirks to him. I'm learning more about him every day and liking him more every day," O'Prey said."

Dhiaga will need some luck if it's to earn a call-up.
"He's a lovely horse and I think he will be nice enough," O'Prey said.
"He's a little bit quirky as well, but he's improving with each week we go along with him.
"With a bit of luck we'll be able to get a run just to have a look at him to learn more about him.
"He's fourth emergency so we might have to wait for another day, but we're hoping a big track like Wang might suit him.
"He's shown some nice, positive form on the track so far."
Last start winner Tori Maguerite, who is part-owned by a large contingent of Racing Wodonga members, will also be in action in another benchmark 58 handicap (1170m).
"It was great for her to win the other day at the home track, unfortunately the members couldn't be on course," O'Prey said.
"The way she was backed, they were all watching her.
"She's drawn awkward (barrier 15), but with only one turn at Wangaratta over that trip, it shouldn't be a great disadvantage.
"She might learn something out of the race as well, but she's a really nice filly.
"She's still a good six months off really learning her craft, there's still a few things wrong, but there's plenty of ability and a lot of upside.
"Hopefully she gets some sort of luck in running and she won't be far away either."
With racing constantly changing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it's essentially been business as usual for O'Prey's team.
"We're just focused on what we're doing, nothing has really changed other than it makes it a bit harder to go across the border," he added.
"We'd like a few more race meetings up this way to get our horses some races.
"With the narrowing of the fields, it makes it a little bit harder for everyone to get a run.
"They seem to keep changing the rules a bit, so you have to be on the ball."
Dissedge ran at Benalla on April 8 for O'Prey after its transfer from Widdison and finished fifth before being sent for a spell.
