The star Rand-Walbundrie-Walla defender is yet to be able to fully put her coaching hat on, with the netball season still on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the back-to-back Hume league medallist has adopted a unique outlook on the unpredictable season.
"It's not at all what I expected, but I suppose if there's no season I can come out and say my first year as a senior coach I didn't lose a game of netball," Kotzur said.
While Kotzur said it will be a memorable season nonetheless, she admits it's been a challenge.

"My focus is just trying to keep everyone's spirits up and keeping a sense of community," she said.
"I've been doing a couple of videos here and there with some netball exercises and things to send to the girls, which in other circumstances you would never do.
"I think our netball club has a great bunch of girls and I think it's just about keeping that going into next season."
While Kotzur leads on the court, she's also a leader in the classroom, working as a teacher at St Paul's College in Walla.
As learning moves more towards online due to the coronavirus, Kotzur admits the new way of coaching and teaching has taken some getting used to.
With weekends looking different for many without sport being played out around the region, Kotzur admits it's the little things that are often missed the most.
"I was talking to someone the other day who said they just miss having a hotdog at the footy," she said.
"It's all of those little things that we're all really missing."
