Other cafes and coffee shops still operating during the COVID-19 crisis serving takeaways have been ordered to not erect tables outside their businesses where people can gather for extended perods.
"Any concerns around people gathering should be referred to the police who have the power to enforce the restrictions around social distancing and gatherings," Wodonga chief executive Mark Dixon said.
"The council has been in discussions with businesses operating in Junction Square to ensure patrons are aware of the restrictions and to remove any of their furniture that encourages people to linger.
The council is working to further discourage people by taping off furniture in high-traffic areas."
