Formerly trained by Newcastle based trainer Mark Minervini, High Advice won the $20,700 3YO & Up Maiden, (1600m) with Teo Nugent aboard.
It was the three-year-old gelding's second start for Scott and only the fourth of his career.
High Advice ($4.20) led into the straight but was quickly joined by race favourite Silesian ($2.35) who appeared to be travelling the better.
But High Advice refused to be headed and showed plenty of fight for Nugent to prevail by the barest of margins.
The Stephen Aldridge-trained Shadow Of Pylon ($6) made good late ground to finish third.
IN OTHER NEWS
High Advice ran third at Gundagai early this month in his debut for the Scott stable.
Scott was excited to get the verdict after the thrilling finish.
"I thought he was going to get beat but was lucky enough to hang on," Scott said.
"It looked a nice race on paper for him and the horse we fought it out with (Silesisan) looked the hardest to beat.
"I thought it was a good run when finishing third at Gundagai the other day when first-up.
"We nominated to race at Corowa but decided to wait until today because we were looking for a softer track.
"So it was great to see him have his head in front when it mattered most today."
Scott felt High Advice was a horse capable of progressing through the grades.
"This is only his second start for me after myself and a few others purchased the horse," she said.
"So we haven't had a lot to do with the horse and still getting to know him.
"It was a pleasing run first-up over 1400m at Gundagai and he was in need of the run.
"I think he is a 2000m horse and hopefully there are some bigger wins in store."
Meanwhile, the John and Chris Ledger trained Royal Treasury won in her first start for the new stable.
Formerly trained by Mick Price, Royal Treasury scored an impressive win in the $20,000 Benchmark 68 Hcp, (1600m) with Harry Grace aboard.
Co-trainer Chris Ledger said the mare improved sharply after having finished outside the placings at her most recent run at Wangaratta.
"She was in great order when she arrived from the Price stable and we did a bit of pre-training with her early on in her preparation so it's like her second home," Ledger said.
"She has settled in well and Mick told us said if you can find a soft track for her she won't be too far away.
"It was a great ride by Harry and she really found the line which was really pleasing to see."
