Singing In Quarantine releases a new song each Friday, with participants having recorded themselves singing the set song separately and the contributions then edited together.
Albury-Wodonga theatre performers Lauren Schmutter, Niki Strauss and Chantelle Hutchins started the group in response to finding themselves working from home, overseeing children's schooling and their usual activities called off.
They invited friends to join the Facebook group and once the weekly songs started being shared, more and more people wanted to take part or just listen.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Schmutter said a leader taught "a crash course" of vocal parts via Zoom on Friday nights, with some choreography as well, then the singers uploaded their performances when ready.
"Some people upload audio and not video, it's just whatever they feel comfortable with," she said.
"Some people are spread out all across Australia, and we even have one lady that tunes in on a Friday night from Norway."
Group member Ben Wilson does the video editing while another member Cassie Aldridge, a sound engineer, mixes the voices together.
The organisers plan to continue the project even when out of isolation and "see what happens from there".
Schmutter said Singing in Quarantine focused on community spirit rather than the quality of the singing and videos.
"It was more about the fun and making sure everyone has a laugh and has heaps of fun doing it," she said.
"But we have found that it actually sounds really lovely.
"It's just been an added bonus that it sounds great too."
