It comes after the competition was scrapped for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I think the longer we have to wait the sweeter it'll be," Lloyd said.
"Everyone's already chomping at the bit to get back out there."
This would have been the 20-year-old's third season with the Border outfit.

Lloyd was looking forward to continuing to grow his game this season while working alongside the team's new experienced imports, who have since returned home.
"We were all really excited to go into this new competition," he said.
"We worked so hard having a long pre-season to then find out it's called off.
"We didn't get the chance to train together as a full team."
Training now looks a little bit different for the Bandits guard, who has found himself with more free time up his sleeve.
"We're finding new ways to stay in shape and just making sure that when we're called upon to come back we're ready to hit the ground running," he said.
Lloyd admits his job as a learning support officer has helped him stay busy.
"That takes a chunk out of my day and keeps my mind off things," he said.
