With restrictions on the agenda at the national cabinet meeting on Friday, the premier said any decisions made there will not be rolled out across NSW this week.
"Without wanting to be the bearer of bad news, can I say that while national cabinet is considering easing some restrictions from Friday in terms of the national guidelines, I doubt very much that NSW will be in a position to implement anything before Mother's Day," Ms Berejiklian said.
"I just wanted to make that clear, having said that, please know that two adults and children can visit any mother at any one time and a mother can accept multiple visits a day so long as there's not too many people for each visit."
Ms Berejiklian said this was a "huge step forward" for NSW residents.
"All of us will be able to enjoy Mother's Day much more so than had it happened a month ago," she said.
Ms Berejiklian also praised NSW residents for the record number of coronavirus tests conducted during the past 24 hours.
"We've had a record number of tests, just over 10,900, that is amazing," she said.
Of these tests, just three positive COVID-19 cases were found and all have known sources.
Ms Berejiklian with students returning to school from Monday, NSW residents could look forward to life being "much more normal".
"As we proceed through May and June there will be an easing of restrictions and that's something we can all look forward to," she said.
"I suspect by the end of June life will feel much more normal than what it does now, and even during May life will feel much more normal than it does now."
