Netball teams in Victoria are one step closer to returning to training after the announcement of eased state social distancing restrictions on Monday.

Teams could be back on the track as early as Wednesday in groups of 10 or less to train in an outdoor setting.
Ovens and Murray netball chairperson Tamara Mathews said directives from AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria would now help guide the league towards a return to training.

She admits the limit of 10 people may also work in netball teams favour, with most falling around that number.
"With 10 people, that does allow for most netball teams to train," Mathews said.
"There would be some teams that have 12 players, but most will be in a position to do that.
"It's a step in the right direction and hopefully people can do the right thing and we'll keep moving forward."
Netball teams on the NSW side of the Border may be able to return to training this Friday after an announcement was made surrounding restrictions on Sunday.
