Firefighters were called to the Sanger Street home about 5.30pm on Monday.
A six by four metre brick shed caught alight, destroying the contents.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Fire and Rescue NSW Inspector Frank Finlay said about 15 firefighters were on scene for about an hour.
"They prevented the fire from extending into the home," he said.
"The occupant of the home was transported to hospital with smoke inhalation as a precaution."
