As a Wodonga boy remains in an induced coma in a Melbourne hospital after being hit by a garbage truck, a fundraiser has been started to support his family.

One anonymous donor made a $5000 contribution to Zayne Watts' family on Wednesday.
Those nearby rushed to his assistance after he was hit by the Cleanaway vehicle.
The six-year-old was flown to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and has undergone an operation.
A hospital spokeswoman on Wednesday said he was still in a serious but stable condition.

A family friend said the Wodonga Primary School student was slowly improving but remained in an induced coma.
Police continue to investigate the matter, and believe the truck driver did not realise he had hit Zayne.
A company spokesman said the business was cooperating with investigators.
"Cleanaway is aware of an incident involving one of our trucks (on Monday) afternoon in Wodonga," the spokesman said.
"The incident is under assessment by the Victorian Police.
"Cleanaway will fully cooperate with the police."
Zayne's family drove to Melbourne on Tuesday, with the trip delayed by their car being in a smash repair business.
A Wodonga woman started a fundraiser on Tuesday to raise money for a new vehicle, which she said would help the family travel between Wodonga and the hospital.
While a small number of donations between $10 and $50 were made, one unknown donor contributed $5000.
