A woman has died after her car crashed into a tree near Wagga on Sunday, despite the heroic efforts of witnesses who managed to pull her from the wreck before the vehicle burst into flames.

Emergency services were called to Pattersons Road at Harefield, about 20km north-east of Wagga, around 5pm on Saturday.
Witnesses came across the crashed Audi, and were able to remove the driver from her car before it caught fire.
However the woman behind the wheel, who police believe to be 25 years old, died at the scene.
The vehicle fire was extinguished by firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service.
