SILENT FILM
The Artists, online staging via Benalla Art Gallery, showing now until June 28
National Exhibitions Touring Support Victoria and Benalla Art Gallery present The Artists, a video artwork by Catherine Bell. The short silent film documents an artist residency at Norma Redpath House, University of Melbourne in December 2017. Using a combination of sign language, lip reading and visual communication, the film focuses on the communal daily rituals of artist collaborators Cathy Staughton and Catherine Bell. The eight-minute video artwork pays homage to the silent film genre which provided an inclusive experience for the hearing impaired who could fully participate in this cultural form as equal members of the audience. Audiences can view The Artists at benallaartgallery.com.au/catherine-bell-the-artists now until 28 June.
LEAGUE RETURN
NRL Round 3, various broadcast options, Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31
The first Australian football code to resume its 2020 season, the NRL will be eagerly welcomed back by fans and watched closely by other sporting organisations. With no spectators allowed in the grounds and other COVID-19 safety measures in place, the games won't be quite the same but plenty of action is still promised. On Saturday night Melbourne Storm, the club that used Albury briefly as a training base earlier this month, will meet Canberra Raiders at Melbourne's AAMI Park.

Friends, families and neighbours can stay in touch and support each other while also helping the fight against cancer. To donate or register to host a virtual morning tea, visit: biggestmorningtea.com.au.
