That though wasn't Timothy Sargeant's intention.
Albury police had been alerted to burn-outs being done in North Albury on January 15. This was "a regular occurrence".
IN OTHER NEWS:
Four days later, police spoke to a man who said he heard a car doing a burnout in Logan Road, near the APCO service station.
He saw a black Holden ute leave the station, with the wheels losing traction as the driver braked and accelerated out the driveway.
The car, police said, headed north before doing a u-turn and returning south.
Sargeant, 39, repeatedly braked and accelerated, causing the tyres to screech.
As he drove past, he "stuck his middle finger up at the witness".
Sargeant has pleaded guilty to a second offence of disqualified driving and to causing a vehicle's wheels to lose traction.
The charges had been adjourned from May 4 so Sargeant could get legal advice, but he didn't have a lawyer this week.
"I need to get this over and done with so I can get on with my life," he said.
Magistrate Richard Funston instead adjourned the case to July 15 to allow for the preparation of a sentence assessment report.
