Round one of a shortened Albury Tennis Association winter pennant is locked in and most players are jumping at the chance.
Veteran Ken Wurtz said while numbers are down on last winter, particularly in the lower grades, it should be a strong competition.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"When we had our meetings, the majority of the clubs were keen to get back into it," Wurtz said.
"It's been a little bit different. You don't get many Saturdays off during the year and we've had a few off now.
"Section one, two and three are about the same, the ladies are down to one section and sections four and five are depleted.
"At least we're one of the sports that are starting up, I can't work out why some sports can't get into it when a lot of the restrictions have been eased."
A 13-round season has been scheduled with the top two teams to play off in the final on September 19.
