The blaze broke out in the Barooga Street home about 3.30pm on Monday.
The road was blocked off while emergency services worked on the incident.
The weatherboard home appeared to have been severely damaged with grey smoke seen billowing from the front of the building.
The cause was being investigated.

About a dozen firefighters from multiple brigades attended the incident, which occurred at a home between Wantigong and Plover streets.
Nearby residents watched on as the firefighters worked on the blaze while wearing breathing apparatus to protect from smoke inhalation.
Some people were urged to stay away from the area amid concern for burning chemicals, but neighbours could be seen watching the blaze unfold.
It's unclear how the blaze started.
The fire occurred amid wet weather.
Showers are also forecast on Tuesday and on Saturday.
