With Geelong league club Grovedale's season being abandoned due to coronavirus restrictions, Garoni has lodged a clearance to return to the Bulldogs.
"It's obviously a great result for our footy club on a couple of fronts," coach Zac Fulford said.
"Firstly, it supports our forward group and will hopefully increase our scoring potency, along with supporting Tom Johnson and our emerging forwards.
"Secondly, it ticks the box that we have regarding our desire to continue to build on our club culture through recruiting former junior players.
"Hudson has clearly shown that he has immense talent and we are rapt to have him come home and support our development as a club."
Garoni kicked 20 goals in nine matches for Grovedale last season as well as playing two matches for VFL club Werribee.
