An application was lodged with Indigo Council more than a year ago, proposing a transformation to Mount Carmel Convent, which first opened in 1928 and provided education until 1989.
But councillors were told in December that the potential developer stopped answering calls.
Now it is back on.
A planning application dated March 2020 has again been lodged with Indigo Council, with the same plans for a restaurant and function centre - including features such as craft centre and yoga studio.

"It will support economic development, tourism and growth and will expand the visitor product that is available within Rutherglen," the application stated.
Objectors last time raised issues including potential noise at the building and the restaurant's hours of operation.
The application is on public display at the council's website and a decision will not be made before July 2.
