After a tight first set Culph stormed ahead to defeat fellow Albury tennis coach Lewis Ahern in the club championship final 7-6 6-1 on the weekend.

He admitted it was nice to see the championships held after much of the tennis calendar was thrown out due to the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"It's been a while since I've played some real competitive matches," Culph said.
"With not being able to play any tournaments because of coronavirus, it's been pretty low key.
"It was good to get out there and play."
Culph said coaching will remain his focus for the time being.
Albury youngster Ella Brown defeated club mate Chelsea McGrath in the final to claim the club's ladies open singles title.
