Albury Local Court has been told that a case conference went ahead between the Director of Public Prosecution representatives and the defence.
But the matters, defence lawyer Tim Hemsley told magistrate Richard Funston, "could not be resolved".
IN OTHER NEWS:
Shaun Douglas Bassett appeared in court this week over the allegations.
Mr Funston agreed to adjourn the two charges to the District Court in Albury on August 4, "or such other date as fixed" by the court.
The purpose of holding a case conference is so the Crown can outline the case that will be prosecuted and in turn provide the opportunity for the defence to have input on those matters, including the then possibility of entering a guilty plea.
The case is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
Bassett, 24, has not entered pleas to the two charges, which were laid by the Albury Criminal Investigations Unit.
The first charge alleges that Bassett used a carriage service, in Thurgoona, to procure a person under the age of 16 years for sexual activity, between October 8 and November 19, 2019.
The allegation is that Bassett tried to "disseminate a location to another person, name a fictitious recipient", in order to have sex with that person.
Further, police have alleged that Bassett believed the person to be 14-years-old.
The second charge alleges that Bassett use a carriage service to solicit child abuse material.
Bassett made no comment during the brief mention of his charges.
Meanwhile, a North Albury woman, Tammy Parnaby, has been placed on two 18-month community corrections orders after police found her in a derelict South Albury house in possession of 2.7 grams of methamphetamine.
She pleaded guilty.
Parnaby is in jail bail refused over a drug supply matter that will go before the court next week.
