League president Brendan I'Anson said clubs had done everything in their power to organise sport before the NSW Government's travel warning was issued on Wednesday.
"The decision to call it off for kids was the toughest decision I have made all year," I'Anson said.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"My motivation to do what I do is seeing kids play sport and seeing them run out to play knowing they will probably not win but still have fun.
"It was really sad to call it off.
"It just got too hard and dangerous in the finish when it's so close to home.
"I'm feeling flat and disappointed to be honest.
"Everyone tried their best but the travel warning caught up with us in the end."
I'Anson said abandoning the junior season was more difficult than calling off the seniors in May.
It is believed some Hume league clubs have expressed interest in playing under 14 and 17 practice matches against rival clubs if coronavirus restrictions are eased by the government in August or September.
