The NSW Open Qualifiers will be held at six venues, but the Border closure between NSW and Victoria has delayed a decision on the local tournament.
Moruya will host the first of the Regional Open Series on August 30-31, followed by Queanbeyan (September 3-4), Dubbo (Sep 8-9), Coolangatta-Tweed Heads (Sep 14-15) and Coffs Harbour (Sep 17-18).
The top three players in those events, either professionals or amateurs, will qualify for the NSW Open, also later this year.
Each event is worth $50,000 and given the lack of golf, due to the coronavirus, they're expected to attract quality fields.
The series will also provide a boost to the economies, some of which are recovering from drought and bushfires, while now battling COVID-19.
"The Regional Open Series will bring huge benefits at many levels," Golf NSW general manager of golf Graeme Phillipson said.
"Not only will there be a significant injection into many local economies, but club golfers in regional NSW will see first-hand some of our sport's brightest young stars."
