With Azzi medallist Jamie Parr still recovering from a knee injury, Madden followed up his impressive practice match form by holding his own in the season opener.
"He showed something in the intra-club last week," coach Joel Mackie sad.
"You can see he belongs out there."
While Osborne's youngsters led the way in the victory, former coach Matt Rava was equally as destructive.
He and Ed Perryman teamed brilliantly out of the centre square despite receiving plenty of attention.
"I put it on 'Rav' a bit," Mackie said.
"With myself and one or two other players being unable to play, he stepped up with his experience and hard body.
"He's still got it even though he's pretty old."
