A WAGGA couple were met with a horrific sight while taking their dog for a walk after finding kangaroos left butchered at a popular park.
A resident and his partner drove into the Pomingalarna Reserve car park to begin their walk when they noticed something strange.
"We saw these kangaroos on the grass and thought it was weird that they didn't hop away or anything as we drove up," he said.
What they saw at about 12pm on Saturday were the remains of "about three" kangaroos, left in pieces.
"It was all very fresh, we went out yesterday afternoon as well and there was nothing there then, so it had to have happened this morning," the man said.
"The way everything was as well, it almost had to have been planned, it wasn't just a rough job."

He said the scene was traumatising, and held concerns for others visiting the park.
"There are often kids going there, and when we arrived there was already another vehicle there plus another as we were leaving," he said.
"That last car was full of kids too, and it would be really traumatic for them to see, or for anyone to see."
The incident was reported to police immediately, according to the man, who was told rangers would go to the scene and remove the animals.
Police and RSPCA NSW have been contacted for comment, but are yet to respond.
