The fire was spotted by people walking past the home on Thursday.
They notified the owner and contacted Triple-0, with firefighters spotting flames coming from a false chimney at the home as members of the public tried to extinguish the blaze.
IN OTHER NEWS:
A crew entered the home and extinguished the source of the fire while a second crew put out the fire on the roof.
The incident was contained with minimal damage.
