The Ostriches find themselves out of the AFL Riverina Championship top-four after Saturday's 26-point loss to Gannmain-Grong Grong-Matong with coach Joel Mackie conceding crunch time had now arrived.
They play winless Turvey Park on Saturday and must defeat either Leeton-Whitton or Wagga Tigers in the final two rounds to be a chance.
After kicking the opening two goals, Osborne slowly dropped off the pace despite the best efforts of midfielders Ed Perryman, Matt Rava and Elliott Powell.
The home team sorely missed a target with Mackie, Sam Stenning and Jack Driscoll sidelined through injury or representative commitments and it showed on the scoreboard as it managed just four goals in slippery conditions.
"We made a real emphasis on the start and we had good energy early but when you drop off against good teams it hurts you," Mackie said.
"We fell away at crucial times.
"At three quarter time the forward entries were similar but we couldn't execute going forward like Ganmain.
"We didn't have a big key like Murray (Nick) either."

Murray looked threatening all game despite kicking only one goal, Sam Martyn was outstanding on a wing, Matt Neagle and Ben Walsh were clever in defence and Sam Murray bobbed up with crucial touches despite close attention from Izaac McDonnell.
Small forward Tom Anderson was instrumental in Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong hitting the front in the second term and former Upper Murray league best and fairest Zac Burhop kicked the sealer in the final quarter.
Osborne started the match strongly with goals to Declan Galvin and Powell to lead by 11 points at the first change.
The Ostrich midfield was on top while Declan O'Rourke, Will Ryan and Duncan McMaster were making life difficult for the Lions' forwards.
Perryman had the ball on a string early which caused Christin Macri to have a major rethink at the first change.
"At quarter-time we had some problems and were lucky to only be a couple of goals down," Macri said.
"They were right on top.
"We were able to fix things up at quarter-time though and I was happy with how we controlled the game from that point.
"I'm really pleased."
Macri said it was a crucial victory after the Lions let a golden opportunity slip against Wagga Tigers last weekend.
"For a six-team comp, it's very tight," he said.
"Every week is tough.
"I'm really happy to win out here."
