A policewoman who came to the aid of paramedics trying to restrain a young Albury mother-of-four got spat in the face for her troubles.

Tahli McEwan's actions were slammed by magistrate Richard Funston in Albury Local Court on Monday.
"She's acted appallingly," he said in summing-up McEwan's heavily intoxicated outburst in North Albury back in October last year.
"She's completely out-of-control."

Paramedics were about to take the now 26-year-old to Albury hospital.
It was believed McEwan had herself been assaulted.
She suffered a laceration to her right knee, but was too drunk to explain how she got the injury.
The officers knew something was wrong when the lights and sirens of the ambulance set to take McEwan to hospital were turned on as the vehicle sat for a worrying length of time in the middle of the Fallon and Mate streets intersection in North Albury.
They believed the paramedics inside the ambulance "were under threat" so rushed to give support, with the policewoman entering through the back door.

The policewoman took hold of McEwan's legs to stop her kicking out.
"The accused continued to yell and scream at police and the paramedics while thrashing about," police said.
The paramedics then began to administer an intravenous sedative to McEwan's right leg, but she continued to yell and scream.
"What the f ... are you doing," she hollered, "get the f ... off me ya fat s**t."
McEwan then spat into the policewoman's face, with the saliva striking her in the left eye and to her forehead.
Police then had to restrain McEwan's arms and legs as the ambulance headed to hospital.
Mr Funston told McEwan he accepted she was assaulted on that day as well, but emphasised it was already hard enough for police and paramedics to do their job without having to put up with such behaviour.
"You've got enough on your plate with those four children and you've got to be the best role model for them as you can," he said.
McEwan, who had not long had her fourth child, pleaded guilty to assaulting police over the incident in Fallon Street on October 22.
She was convicted and placed on a 12-month community corrections order.
