The last-start listed grade winner is among the leading fancies for the lucrative feature and is an $11-chance in pre-post markets.
The 14 lucky $5 sweepstake winners will be drawn on September 9.
Each winner then negotiates with owners which horse will race under their entry and how the prizemoney will be divided.
Scott planned to trial Lord Von Costa on September 19 at Wagga.
The seven-year-old gelding would then ideally have two lead-up runs if he gains a slot in The Kosciuszko.
"He ran some evens in trackwork this morning," Scott said.
"The plan is to trial at Wagga and then have two starts in Sydney prior to The Koscuiszko if he can gain a start.
"Hopefully he is a horse that appeals to slot holders.
"I think when the horse is right he has proven he is as good as any of the other contenders.
"He has got two listed wins to his credit now.
"It was a super run at Flemington last start where he beat some nice horses.
"It's a huge effort to win in Saturday grade down there, let alone a listed race.
"I think anyone who chose to select him will get some bang for their buck.
"A lot of people may think that he has better form in Melbourne.
"But he has previously run placings at Randwick.
"I'm excited that if he gets a start that he is a genuine hope in the race."
