The start on roadworks associated with realignment of the Olympic Highway as part of the project has been pushed back to early next year.
Greater Hume Shire is managing the works and briefed councillors of the delay last week.

It was originally planned for a start on roadworks earlier this year, but due to Telstra, NBN and Riverina Water County Council assets being in the construction zone it had to be relocated before any roadworks or rail works could take place.
Relocating Telstra and NBN cabling wasn't completed until May, in part, due to availability of qualified contractors, access to rail corridor, and coronavirus restrictions.
Additionally flood modelling was not included as part of the original design work carried out by Transport for NSW and led to additional drainage infrastructure being needed.
Wet weather was also encountered, but rail works have progressed and major rail infrastructure will be installed early next month.
"Whilst all efforts have been undertaken to have this project completed prior to the harvest this year, the impacts of additional service relocations, additional design requirements of ARTC, wet and inclement weather and other COVID issues have left council limited choice but to delay the construction of the highway realignment works until early 2021," engineering director Greg Blackie said.
