Detective Sergeant Graeme Simpfendorfer is investigating if the victims were deliberately targeted, and sought information.
"They're unharmed, at this stage it's just the psychological impact of returning to your safe place of home and to be confronted by two offenders, one armed with a firearm, one armed with a baseball bat, that's of great concern in our community," he said.
"We don't need it and don't want it."
