The revelation on Jamie William Egan's matter was made in Albury Local Court this week by Director of Public Prosecutions representative Bradley Godson.
"It will be resolved," Mr Godson told magistrate Richard Funston, via a video link to Wagga.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It's quite a serious matter. I would ask that it be adjourned to September 22."
Egan, who has been in custody for several months after choosing to no longer remain on bail, did not appear in court, though he has done so on previous mentions.
He faces 16 charges over the crash in the north-bound lanes of the Hume Freeway in March, 2019, that claimed the life of the 63-year-old driver of a utility.
Egan was seriously injured in the crash, the force of the collision such that the trailer on his B-double went over the side of the Sweetwater Creek Bridge.
He had to be flown to hospital in Canberra with head and back injuries.
At a mention of his matter in April, Egan, 46, appeared to limp as he entered a video link room at Bathurst Correction Centre.
His charges include drug-driving occasioning death, with an allegation he had methamphetamine in his system at the time of the crash.
This element of the prosecution case has faced lengthy delays as a result of difficulties in securing blood samples taken from Egan at the hospital in the ACT.
That resulted in sharp criticism from his defence team.
Egan also faces critical breaches of rest laws for heavy vehicle drivers and is alleged to have falsified information in his log book.
No application was made so Mr Funston further refused bail.
