At least 50 more ambassadors are needed for the Markwood resident to achieve that goal.
"I had cancer 12 years ago on my back, and went to Peter Mac in Melbourne for five years backwards and forwards, and it's so much easier coming to your local centre," he said.
"This centre services a wide region - all the way up to Hay and Deniliquin, Bright and Mansfield.
"The reaction [to the fundraiser] has been absolutely amazing.
"But we need more ambassadors ... we have about 40 at the moment, but we need 100 to make sure this thing works properly."
Mr Greaves has finished immunotherapy treatment for melanoma, extending his life expectancy from only weeks to two-to-five years.
"I've had counselling from the centre and lots of support," he said.
The Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre sees 1500 new patients annually, and 300 on average each day.
AWRCC Trust Fund board member David Baker, who had a melanoma in 2014, hoped the $200,000 target could be reached.
"It's a fantastic theme - it's not just for males, it's for females, children, everyone is welcome," he said.
"Those 49 ambassadors to date have raised very close to $40,000.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We're a 100 per cent local charity, so all funds raised stay in the area and go back into the centre."
Ovens and Murray general manager Sean Barrett has signed on as an ambassador, and has started growing his beard.
"With the courage of Terry to share his story in what could only be a really difficult part of his life, and to turn that into a positive ... I would encourage everyone, whether you're involved in an O&M club or a club elsewhere, to jump on board and become an ambassador," he said.
With every $20 donation, supporters will receive a numbered ball.
The closest ball will win a $10,000 prize; go to www.balldrop.com.au to donate or to become a bearded ambassador.
