Developer Andrew Stern is seeking answers from Wodonga Council about why it accepted an offer for a block of industrial land in Bandiana at a lower price than what he was prepared to pay.

Mr Stern made a bid as part of the initial expressions of interest and then upped his offer to $2.01 million which was again rejected by council in favour of the revised Repus bid.
"I am at a loss to see how council can be discharging its primary obligation of acting in the best of its ratepayers in accepting a lower offer," he said in a letter to council dated August 27.
"I am sure that every ratepayer in Wodonga would be aghast if this money was foregone in the knowledge that a vastly superior, unconditional offer was on the table.
