JUST weeks after Rutherglen's gelato shop celebrated its first birthday in March, it temporarily closed due to the coronavirus crisis.
As the nation emerged from the first lockdown, Gelatina remained shut as winter was already closing in.
With spring in the air now, Gelatina has reopened in Main Street for takeaway service only in line with stage three restrictions in regional Victoria.
Gelatina owner Tina Cozzi said Rutherglen residents had backed the venture, which made authentic gelato and sorbet on the premises.
"I love gelato and I even married an Italian (Steve Cozzi)," she said.
"When we're travelling in Italy, it's a regulation two gelatos a day!"
