Whitfield, Lurg and Greta are among the communities pushing for inclusion by the NSW government.
"Rather than having pockets left out it should all be in," he said.
"It would be so much easier for people to understand rather than having to go online to see where the lines have been drawn.
"People know whether they are the municipal area of Wangaratta, Moira, Benalla or Alpine."
The changes require the tick of approval from NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard.
