The institution on Wednesday unveiled a 10-year plan stating its regional campuses will "exit unsustainable face-to-face offers" in disciplines other than rural health and education.
They would be replaced by "online courses supported by on-campus facilities, student support, and employability pathways".
However, La Trobe remains committed the Border campus which had its foundation stone laid in 1994.
