Two 'crackpots' who started a covert mosaic trail in Myrtleford have been named finalists in the 2020 Tidy Towns' community awards.

While the anonymous pair's mosaic campaign might have started as an underground attempt to beautify the town, the trail has since become a popular council-approved drawcard.
In the community category, the Wimmera to Walwa bushfire appeal is also a finalist, while Wodonga Urban Landcare Network's Gardens for Wildlife program is a finalist for the environmental category.

Both Beechworth and Benalla have been nominated as overall Tidy Town finalists.
Beechworth has a number of groups nominated across various categories including Beechworth Primary School, the Lions Club, Bilson's Brewery, the Men's Shed and more.
Indigo Power is an energy finalist.
