Rob Rowe will leave the post in December after 11 years, citing family commitments.
"I love the industry, I love golf, it's just to get a bit of life balance," he said.
It's well known in the industry that head pros work a minimum of 60 hours per week and Rowe and wife Renee have two children Oscar, nine, and Meredith, six.
The 40-year-old started in the pro shop in 2003 and completed his PGA traineeship four years later, claiming Victorian PGA Trainee dux in 2006-07.

Rowe has played a leading role in increasing junior participation and he also introduced the highly successful Sevens Golf program, a nine-hole daylight savings competition.
"I've got to look for a job, we've really jumped off the end of the board, I'll leave just before 'Chrissie' (Christmas) and hopefully find some work in January," he said.
